The Field Service Technician will be servicing Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) and industrial power protection equipment across the West Coast region, based in El Segundo, CA.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, a proactive approach to maintenance, and a commitment to customer service.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on Rotary UPS and power protection systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose AC/DC control issues, leveraging technical schematics and software.
- Utilize SCADA/PLC tools for system monitoring and issue resolution.
- Manage on-site subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Respond to emergency service calls and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Provide technical support and customer guidance to ensure optimal system performance.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and industry best practices.
First 90 Days
- Complete hands-on training on company products and service protocols. Two weeks in Houston.
- Shadow experienced technicians to gain practical troubleshooting experience. This is OJT.
- Develop relationships with key customers and internal teams. You are the face of the company.
- Independently conduct scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with minimal supervision.
- Effectively manage service calls and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a technical resource for customers and junior technicians.
- Improve maintenance processes and contribute to operational efficiency.
- Take on larger, more complex troubleshooting responsibilities.

Requirements
- Must have served in U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves or U.S. National Guard.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in power generation, industrial electrical systems, or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with AC/DC control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documents.
- Experience with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to travel on short notice.
- Ability to obtain a passport for occasional international travel.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills for reporting and diagnostics.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Guaranteed 40Hrs a week
- Provide Quarterly On-Call pay in addition to salary
