Landfill QA Technician

Seeking a US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse to apply for an entry level Landfill Construction QA Technician position with our client, an Environmental Consulting company. The depth and breadth of their professional services practice, focusing on specific geographic regions, enables them to offer clients professional engineering and consulting services with localized expertise and knowledge. They work in Solid Waste, Civil / Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Air Compliance, Oil and Gas, Architecture, Land Surveying, and Construction Materials Testing. The Landfill Construction QA Technician duties include field inspections, soil testing, geosynthetic liners testing, and construction quality assurance. This position requires a bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license, passing a motor vehicle review, 1 years of related experience, highly trainable, and mechanically inclined required.

Pay: $23-25/hour

Schedule: 40 hours, plus OT. Requires out of town assignments and working 6-7 days per week.

· A CQA technician works a full year (2080 hours) within a nine-month construction season.

Responsibilities: Veteran Military

· Monitoring and documentation of construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners. (On-site job training will be provided, as necessary)

· Field duties include the following:

o Supervision and performance of construction quality assurance and construction quality control activities in several states, including the construction of landfill components and other environmental control systems; collaboration and coordination with senior staff and management and direction of support staff.

· Even though this is a full-time position, it should be realized that this position will have down periods of time due to project scheduling and weather.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Veteran Military

· US Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in related field, i.e., engineering, construction, building maintenance etc. required.

· 1 year in construction, maintenance, structural mechanics, and/or avionics mechanics preferred.

· Mechanically inclined required.

· Valid driver’s license, passing a motor vehicle review (MVR), and passing a drug screening required.

· This is a field position that requires out of town assignments that include working 6-7 days per week required.

§ This includes having to stay in hotels for extended periods. All travel expenses are covered for out-of-town assignment.

· Good communication, writing, and organization skills.

· Computer skills (Microsoft office) required.

· Willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment required.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds required.
