Description : OVERVIEW
Employment Navigators (ENs), reporting to a Regional Director of Employment, the primary responsibility is to provide employment preparation support and guidance case management for military members, veterans, and their families within the NCServes platform. The Employment Navigator will also work to align the strengths and priorities job-seeking veterans, spouses, and NCServes employment providers with the goals of community network directors and care coordinators.
Operating in a matrixed collaborative environment, ENs will partner closely with non-profit employment provider partners. ENs will support the Collective Impact approach to address the complexity of Veteran employment challenges by supporting the five (5) conditions necessary for Collective Impact success; Support a common agenda; Ensure continuous, thoughtful, and thorough communications; Facilitate mutually reinforcing activities; Establish shared measurement; and Grow a sustainable and strong backbone through key partnerships.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support employment case management for military members, veterans, and their families. Allocate 80 % of time to working with clients and referrals within the case management platform.
- Provide tactical guidance and support to align job-seeking veterans (including guard and reserve members), spouses, and employment.
- Foster a team environment within VBH, collaborating with all members to support employment-related outcomes and expertise.
- Build strong relationships non-profit employment provider partners.
- Act as a thought leader, convener, and facilitator for the veteran and spouse employment continuum, covering recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention in the Employment Navigator's markets and in support of other Navigators.
- Identify and track key metrics to assess hiring efforts' effectiveness (e.g., number hired, interviews conducted, resumes reviewed, etc.).
- Be intentional in working with diversity and inclusion partners, ensuring that outcomes address economic mobility and racial justice challenges.
- Track time and tasking as required using the platforms used by our organization.
