Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs and maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Collaborate with OEM representatives for specialized repairs or technical support as needed.
- Conduct inspections and tests on medical devices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide training and support to junior technicians on best practices for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively in the field service environment.
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules for various types of medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to calibrate and repair complex medical devices.
- Familiarity with computer hardware systems related to biomedical technology.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare staff and other technicians.
