HOUSEKEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the standards of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained at Veterans Guest House. In addition to keeping the facility clean and orderly, the housekeeper will notify management of needed repairs. This role regularly interfaces with staff, guests, volunteers, and as such, a pleasant, good-natured, and cooperative disposition is required.
Responsibilities
· Clean bedrooms, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, elevators, and other works areas throughout.
· Vacuum rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
· Dust and polish furniture, equipment, and windows.
· Sweep, scrub, and mop floors.
· Replenish supplies, such as toiletries, toilet paper, Kleenex, flashlights.
· Public areas are to be kept clean and wood floors mopped daily.
· Supervise volunteers who assist with preparing beds and gathering dirty linens and rugs.
· When volunteers are unavailable, sort washing, loading, and unloading laundry.
· Report all maintenance issues, theft, and damages.
· Inventory and ensure adequate supply of all required cleaning materials, pantries, and guest room items.
· Provide deep-cleaning services for the move-in and move-out of residents at other Veterans Guest House properties on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
· Experience cleaning and sanitizing spaces in a hotel or medical facility.
· Pride in work and commitment to Veterans Guest House mission.
· Personal maturity, motivation, and integrity.
· Able to operate housekeeping equipment.
· Familiarity with CloudBeds or similar room management program.
Compensation:
· $17 - $20 an hour
· Monday – Friday, 30 hours per week
Flexible or full-time hours may be offered for the right candidate.
