What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician position at Veterans Health Administration?
Interventional Psychiatrist opportunity available caring for our nation's veterans in Las Vegas, NV! Major duties and responsibilities include :
- Provides direct patient care in an outpatient mental health setting with certain interventional procedures performed in the PACU / Special Procedures Unit.
- Functioning as part of a multi-disciplinary care team working with other physicians, psychologists, social workers, LMFTs, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, Clinical Pharmacy Practitioners, nurses, and support staff. Provides high quality and efficient care and must be able to work well as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintains competency in all aspects of Psychiatric care to include ECT, Esketamine, Ketamine and TMS. Maintains up-to-date knowledge in medication management, including adverse reactions and their appropriate treatment.
- Uses appropriate documentation to record patients' medical history and all aspects of the patients' psychiatric course of treatment.
- On-call responsibilities for the inpatient unit are mostly from home except for occasional weekend or holiday coverage when inpatient staff may be limited.
- Participation in interventional psychiatry clinical research to complement clinical care
- Psychiatry resident teaching
