About the Urology Specialist Role
At Veterans Health Administration, we are seeking a highly skilled Urology Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide state-of-the-art urological care to our patients, including outpatient care, pre-operative assessment, operative intervention, and post-operative care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of urological services, including consultation/referral review and triage, coordination of clinics, and contracting with local facilities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the general urology program, including providing urological outpatient care, informing patients about treatment options, and obtaining informed consent for invasive procedures.

We offer opportunities to work at the Sacramento VA Medical Center 1-2 days per month to maintain surgical skills and apply for a Volunteer Clinical Faculty (VCF) appointment to work with residents training at the UC Davis School of Medicine.
Compensation and Benefits
- We offer a competitive salary: $327,000 - $357,000 per year.
- Annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid Federal holidays per year, plus possible 5 day paid absence for CME.
- Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA.

- Licensure: one full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
- CME reimbursement: up to $1,000 per year.

- No physician employment contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
Requirements
- Be a US citizen or PRA (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7407(a)).
- Hold a current, full, unrestricted medical license in any state.
- Be board prepared/certified in Urology.
- Confirm vaccination for seasonal influenza.
