Job Summary: The Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing client relationships within the electrical contracting industry. This role involves identifying sales opportunities, presenting electrical contracting services to potential clients, and closing sales to achieve company revenue goals. The Sales Representative will work closely with project management and estimating teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors
    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed sales targets
    • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners.
    • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their needs and provide solutions.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns.
  • Sales Presentations and Proposals:
    • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
    • Develop and submit detailed proposals and bids for electrical contracting projects.
    • Collaborate with the estimating team to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Work with project management and estimating teams to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Communicate client requirements and expectations to internal teams.
    • Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and project details in CRM software.
    • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to the Sales Manager/Director
    • Prepare and present sales performance metrics to senior management.
  • Networking and Industry Involvement:
    • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote company services.
    • Stay updated on industry developments, best practices, and competitor activities.
    • Participate in relevant professional organizations and associations.
  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Sales, Electrical Contracting or the construction industry.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    • Strong understanding of electrical contracting services and industry standards.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to visit client sites and conduct on-site evaluations.
    • Ability to work in an office environment and use standard office equipment.
  • Work Environment:
    • This position typically works in an office setting, but frequent visits to client sites and occasional travel are required.
    • Attendance at industry events and trade shows may be necessary.
