Summary:
A Research Assistant is needed for brain imaging research group at the VA San Diego and UCSD, focusing on tobacco dependence and cannabis addiction. The position includes helping recruit and screen research participants, assisting with brain imaging, and working on analysis of brain images.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Recruit and screen potential research participants for brain imaging (and related) research.
2) Schedule and perform intake research visits.
3) Assist with brain imaging, including positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
4) Assist with administrative tasks, such as obtaining IRB approvals and purchasing supplies needed for research.
5) Analyze PET and MRI scans following established methods.
6) Assist with grant writing.
7) Complying with safety and security policies and procedures
8) Performing other research-related tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field from an accredited college or university. 1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
