Program Manager (Veteran Services - HUD Programs)

The Program Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Supportive Housing program at Veterans Multi-Service Center. This includes overseeing program operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing staff and providing leadership to ensure the program effectively serves veterans experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Oversight:
    • Develop and implement program goals, objectives, and strategies in alignment with the organization's mission and funding requirements.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Supportive Housing program, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
    • Monitor program performance, track outcomes, and prepare regular reports for funders and internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those from HUD and other funding sources.
    • Manage program budget and resources effectively.
  • Staff Supervision:
    • Supervise and mentor a team of Case Managers providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings, individual supervision sessions, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Client Services:
    • Ensure that clients receive high-quality, person-centered case management services that meet their individual needs.
    • Monitor client progress, address concerns, and intervene when necessary to ensure housing stability.
    • Collaborate with other service providers and community resources to provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with landlords, community partners, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the program and the organization at community meetings and events.
    • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in supportive housing and homeless services.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred. Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience will be considered.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in social services, with at least three years of experience working with homeless populations or populations with high clinical needs.
    • Prior supervisory experience required.
    • Experience with HUD programs and regulations strongly preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of best practices in supportive housing and case management.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Commitment to the mission of Veterans Multi-Service Center.
