What are the responsibilities and job description for the HEAD LIFEGUARD position at Veterans Park District?
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, training and supervision of Gouin Pool Aquatic staff including: attendants, lifeguards, and swim instructors.
- Respond to emergency situation in accordance with established methods and procedures.
- Enforce Park rules and regulations regarding pool activities.
- Administer first aid, CPR as necessary.
- Creates schedules and assists Aquatic Supervisor
- Offers and renders advice and assistance whenever requested.
- Coordinates and instructs in service training sessions.
- Check all equipment and ensure it’s in working condition before every shift.
WHAT REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED:
- Ability to meet and deal with the public.
- Be able to work outside in the heat and sun light for 6-8 hours.
- Must be able to stay calm in high stress situations.
- Current certification of the following, and or willing to obtain. Veterans Park District will provide compensation for training.
- Ellis ILTP Instructor Certification or ability to attain
- Ellis Vanguard Certification
- WSI certification
WHEN YOU’LL WORK:
- 20-40 hours per week, weekend nights and holidays. Flexible schedules.
- Pool season runs from May 25 to September 2.
- Saturday – Sunday Shifts available between the hours of 12-6pm.
WHAT YOU’LL GET:
