What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Lesson Instructor position at Veterans Park District?
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- As a Swim Lesson Instructor, you will be responsible for the instruction of toddlers, youth, teens, and/or adults of specified programs offered at either East or West Leyden indoor pool.
- Demonstrate your ability to instruct swimming lessons with a knowledge of various swimming strokes and teaching levels
- Lead, direct and facilitate a group of individuals at the same time
- Stay current on trends and information related to the specified program offering
WHAT REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision
- Available to work weekends/holidays when called upon
- Have a functional knowledge and understanding of the program being offered
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with the general public, parents and fellow staff members
- Prior instructional experience preferred
- Must be certified or willing to attain certification in CPR, FIRST Aid and AED
- Bilingual a plus
WHEN YOU’LL WORK:
- 10 to 15 hours per week (occasional weekends/holidays)
- Monday thru Thursday 6pm to 8:30pm
- October thru April
