Field Service/Product Support Engineer
We are looking for a talented Field Service/Product Support Engineer to join our growing high-tech company specializing in machine tools and laser technology. We seek someone who enjoys troubleshooting, installations, problem-solving, and customer service. Your role will involve working with industrial equipment both on-site and remotely. This position requires approximately 60% nationwide travel.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and electronic issues using company manuals and work orders.
- Assemble, install, and align equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure proper machine operation understanding.
- Work with PSG for technical assistance and provide diagnostic feedback.
- Use computer programs and diagnostic tools for further issue diagnosis.
- Maintain smooth machinery operation by cleaning, replacing, or installing parts.
- Accurately report machine conditions and information.
- Provide onsite training for customers on machine operation and repairs.
- Receive factory training and update technical knowledge.
- Develop or adjust technical documentation.
- Travel up to 60% (regional and national).
- Utilize remote diagnostics for customer machine repairs.
- Coordinate with service schedulers for field support.
- Understand technical documentation, ETK, schematics, and blueprints for telephone support.
- Enter information in software systems and update/close service call cases.
- Attend necessary meetings (in-person or telecommunicating).
- Stay updated with new product introductions.
- Interface with departments for technical problem solutions.
- Work 24/7 and after-hours shifts as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or technical school degree in Engineering principles, or a suitable combination of education and work experience/military service.
- Experience in computer software, file management, electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics, and hydraulics.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
- Working knowledge of SAP software.
- Technologically savvy and experienced in software and file management.
- Must have and maintain a clean and valid driver's license and record.
- Eager to travel.
