Duties and responsibilities:
Practice independently in the provision of psychological services, engage in professional and scientific work which relates to behavior, capacities, personality, interests, emotions and mental disorders, consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate. Provide care across the VRR Continuum of Care to ensure VRR achieves its mission to remove barriers to care, deliver quality integrated health care, and build a better community through recovery and connection.

Practice independently in the provision of psychological services, engage in professional and scientific work which relates to behavior, capacities, personality, interests, emotions and mental disorders, consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate. Provide care across the VRR Continuum of Care to ensure VRR achieves its mission to remove barriers to care, deliver quality integrated health care, and build a better community through recovery and connection.
Responsibilities include:
- Offer person-centered treatment planning with personally and culturally diverse clients.
- Provide acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and/or other evidence-based approaches to individual and group therapy for SUDs, PTSD, and other conditions.
- Diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders.
- Provide a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients.
- Provide recovery-oriented education to patients, family members, and significant others.
- Provide mental health treatment through Telehealth technology as necessary.
- Conduct screening, assessment, and diagnosis, including the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, and other evidence-based risk assessments.
- Participate in measurement-based care and continual quality improvement.
- Participate in regular clinical training for ensuring high-quality care.
- Participate in weekly inter-disciplinary team meetings to promote care coordination.
- Support operations of the crisis intervention team via consultation and service planning.
- Engage in outreach to regional medical centers/clinics and community organizations to ensure proper working relations.
- Services may extend to VRR’s intensive outpatient clients and inpatient residents.
- Additional administrative duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a master’s degree in clinical social work (LICSW) or Counseling (LPC) with an unencumbered license.
- Must be licensed at the master's level to independently practice in Alabama.
- Background in working with couples, families, children, in trauma, SUDs, and co-occurring conditions, preferred.
- Background in working with inter-disciplinary behavioral health teams is preferred.

- Willingness to gain understanding about cultural humility and other principles of trauma-informed care, person-centered care, evidence-based practice, and military cultural competence.
- Problem-solving and other recovery support services, navigation of regional health care system, transportation services, and linkage to housing and other social services
- Willingness to commit to VRR’s organizational values (Integrity, Compassion and Respect) and operational principles (e.g., holistic, person-centered, evidence-based care)
Supervisory relationships
- Report directly to Clinical Director
- Provides no supervision.
Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements
- Minimal travel in Mobile and Baldwin County
