Position Summary:
The HVRP Case Manager empowers homeless veterans to realize their career potential through industry recognized training opportunities that will result in career level jobs paying living wages through the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program. The HVRP Case Manager provides case management and job coaching services to eligible homeless veterans and connects them with community resources that will assist the veteran in becoming stably housed and self-sufficient.
The coverage area includes surrounding counties of Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston and other counties as needed.
Classification – Full-time salary position with flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
FLSA Classification – Exempt

Duties / Responsibilities:
Assesses homeless veterans for participation in the Homeless Veterans Reintegration
Program (HVRP).
Conducts community-based outreach to homeless Veterans and their families both independently and by coordinating with referring providers and Continuum of Care efforts.
Maintains an active caseload of homeless veterans in various stages of achieving their career goals.
Connects homeless veterans with Veterans Administration services, including VA healthcare.
Provides career counseling to homeless veterans.
Links homeless veterans to short-term training opportunities that will result in career level jobs paying living wages.
Develops job opportunities for homeless veterans among area businesses.
Maintains contact with all HVRP participants for a period of 18 months in order to track essential measures: job retention and earned wages.
Collects and maintains accurate and detailed records of outreach efforts.
Ensures client files are maintained according to Department of Labor standards.
Educates veterans currently receiving SSI/SSDI benefits about the Ticket-to-Work program and enrolls eligible veterans in this program.
Represents ABCCM at area job fairs and community events.
Participates in all appropriate staff, supervision, and training meetings.
Assumes other duties as assigned by the Senior Management.
Skills / Competencies:
Experience working with at-risk populations; experience working with veterans preferred.
Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.
Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
Must have knowledge of clinical issues, skill in community resource development, be well organized, a self-starter, and able to work as a member of a team.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record; ability to travel within the catchment area.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Human Services related field.
Relationships / Working Environment:
The HVRP Case Manager reports to the HVRP Director.
The position interacts with VSC staff, veteran participants, community providers, volunteers and interns.
The position works in the community and requires regular regional travel.
Physical Demands: Must be ambulatory; must be able to operate a vehicle; must have visual/hearing acuity. Must be able to write legibly. Must have sufficient manual dexterity to write and use a computer and other typical office equipment on a regular basis. Must possess dexterity, stand, sit, walk, lift and carry twenty pounds for short distances.
Mental Demands: Must have verbal ability; must be able to comprehend instructions; comprehend/ interpret charts, diagrams, and possess inductive and deductive reasoning.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
