THE ROLE
This isn't the usual type of Registered Veterinary Technician Supervisory role, this position gives you the opportunity to be at the forefront of animal medicine and make a recognizable difference with patients and those who love them. THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help create an environment for employees to motivate themselves.
- Handle all functions of Senior or Lead Oncology Technician.
- Supervises and conducts, with the help of their manager, formal evaluations for staff.
- Prepares the technician staff schedules a minimum of 2-3 weeks in advance.
- Must keep staff schedules within budget 85% of the time.
- Conduct monthly one on one meeting with the technical staff. Meeting should be focused on individual goals of each staff member, the known obstacles, and how you can provide the tools to move them forward and accomplish them. Electronic notes would be turned in to manager for employee’s personnel file.
- Participate in monthly meeting with their supervising manager to review your goals.
- Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings for staff.
- Must maintain RVT status and keep a current CA license.
- Responsible for ensuring an organized work environment for staff.
- Identify roadblocks to any of the above functions and bring your suggestions for a solution to manager’s attention.
- Supervisors are required to participate in 8 hours/CE units towards their supervisor development. VCG will allow up to $300 for tuition, travel or incidentals on pre-approved seminars. VCG will allow up to 8 paid hours for participation but it must not be overtime hours. Additional training or CE might be required depending on performance.

Hours: Full/Part time; 10 hours shifts. Must be available to work from 8am to 7pm.
