Emergency Veterinary Technician/Treatment Technician/Surgery Technician
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing emergency medical care to animals of all species
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Perform radiographs
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a veterinary technician program or equivalent experience - At least 1 year.
- Knowledge and previous experience with animal care and handling techniques
- Ability to perform laboratory tests and procedures and basic knowledge of computer and software with ability to input medical history and information.
- Proficiency in administering medications in various routes properly and treatments of hospital patients
- Experience with X-ray equipment and proper operation and techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
