ABOUT THE ROLE:
Seeking current veterinary students!
Jump into emergency veterinary medicine on the front lines alongside our fantastic veterinarians! Veterinary scribes play a critical role in the medical process by building the perfect medical record for each and every patient. This role helps to provide relief for our doctors and teams during their busiest time - the summer months, when many veterinary students are on break from class. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compose electronic medical records
- Submit lab work and notify doctor when results are in
- Assist doctors with any non-clinical duties
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred background: Current veterinary student with an interest in a future career in ECC
- Advanced proficiency in computer programs and practice management software
- Ability to type quickly and accurately
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to read, speak and hear sufficiently to understand, and complete tasks instructed in all forms of communication, written, verbal, or other
- Properly communicates information to all personnel including management, medical staff & customers
- Strong multitasking skills
- High emotional intelligence
- Adaptable and amenable in 'high stakes' environments
- Must present yourself with a professional and approachable demeanor
- This role requires sitting, standing and walking
- Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital demands
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
- Ability to commute to the hospital (this is not a remote position)
