Job Title: Part-Time Kennel Attendant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Kennel Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all pets. This position requires a love for animals and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, minimal grooming, walking, and administering medication as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for our patients by regularly cleaning kennels/cages, exam rooms, and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to our veterinarians or a senior staff member.
- Assist with the check-in and check-out process for pets.
- Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed.
- Assist with handling and restraining patients during exams and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients by answering questions and providing updates on their pet's well-being.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
-Potential to cross train in other departments and assist when needed.
-Willing to do other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Passion for animal care and welfare.
- Previous experience in a kennel or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and school breaks.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and walking animals.

Requirements
Duties include caring for boarding and hospitalized animals, including cage cleaning, exercising, feeding, medicating, observing signs of illness, controlling the spread of parasites and infectious diseases, bathing patients, laundry, clean all public and staff areas, and to assist with facility and yard maintenance to maintain a clean, odorless and inviting environment. Willingness to help where needed and do tasks not previously mentioned. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to work all major holidays and weekends.
