Position Summary
Arnold Pet Station is looking to hire a kennel attendant to join our team. This is a part-time position. Compensation for this role is a $15- $17/hour based on experience with opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and work areas
- Feed, water, and exercise pets based on individual needs
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the veterinary team
- Assist with handling and restraining pets during procedures as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- May be cross-trained in a veterinary assistant or client service representative role
Part-Time Benefits Package
- Maryland Safe/Sick Leave: 1 hour for every 30 hours that an employee works up to a maximum of 40 hours
- 401k: 1st of the month following hire date (21 or older), match after 1 year if minimum hours worked are met/maintained

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience in animal care, such as pet sitting, volunteering at shelters, or working at veterinary practices, is often preferred but not always mandatory.
- Veterinary experience or kennel-specific experience preferred, but not required
- Flexibility in work hours, including weekends, holidays, and potential overtime.
- Ability to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to walk, stand, and bend, perform physical tasks for sustained and extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and arms to handle animals, materials, and equipment
- A love for animals and a strong commitment to their well-being.
- Observational skills to monitor animal health and behavior.
- Basic cleaning and sanitation skills to maintain a clean environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and veterinary staff. Comfort working with a variety of animals, potentially including those that are nervous, aggressive, or sick.
- Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
