Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA Tester to support on-site testing of Android-based handheld devices specifically Zebra ZT52 at our Distribution Center (DC) in Cincinnati (Ohio). This role includes hands-on testing directly within the warehouse/DC environment and contributing to UI testing for the Traceability project using Playwright with TypeScript. You ll work closely with QA leads, product owners, and developers to execute real-world test scenarios and report outcomes using modern DevOps tooling.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct all testing onsite at the Distribution Center (DC), validating handheld workflows and warehouse processes.
Execute functional and regression testing on Android handheld devices used in supply chain and logistics operations.
Perform UI test automation using Playwright with TypeScript, integrating with test runners like Jest or Mocha.
Validate end-to-end workflows including scanning, connectivity, data flow, and backend service interaction.
Use GitHub Actions to run automated test suites in CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with onsite operations and offshore development teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
Track issues and maintain test cases using tools like JIRA, Zephyr, or equivalent.
Ensure traceability and compliance alignment, especially in regulated domains.
Required Skills and Experience
2 years of experience in QA testing, with hands-on work on Android handheld devices; experience with Zebra ZT52 is strongly preferred.
Strong skills in test automation using Playwright with TypeScript.
Working knowledge of Jest or Mocha for test execution.
Familiarity with Android tools such as ADB, logcat, and app installation/configuration processes.
Experience in using GitHub Actions, SonarQube, and Snyk for test automation and quality control.
Ability to work onsite in a dynamic warehouse environment and follow physical safety procedures.
Experience reporting and communicating test results in a structured and professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with DSCSA (Drug Supply Chain Security Act) and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) compliance.
ISTQB certification or other QA credentials.
Experience with barcode scanning workflows, RFID, and inventory systems.
Exposure to reporting tools like ReportPortal or QMetry.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods to perform testing activities across warehouse zones.
Must be comfortable handling handheld equipment and working around operational warehouse processes.
