What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Vetio Animal Health?
Primary Function:
The Senior Accountant will help to establish and maintain financial transactions while supporting financial accounting areas, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and production transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process/assist in accurate record-keeping relating to full cycle of accounting.
· Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain information related costs/variances and other financial transactions.
· Oversees Accounts Receivable billing, collections, cash receipts.
· Participate in the process of improvement of accounting procedures and controls.
· Inventory oversight/controls, reconciliation, and costing.
· Assist Human Resources in weekly payroll processes, when needed, while maintaining a high level of confidential information.
· Journal Entries and account reconciliations.
· Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process.
· Develop and maintain regular reports via the company’s accounting system to support communication of financial data, as well as the status of the organization.
· Primary internal contact for SAP Business One ERP system and our outside support consultants.
· Maintains an inquisitive approach by exploring financial data and root cause analysis.
· Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop guidance and insights for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
· Partners with Production to provide insightful analysis in production transactions.
· Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the accounting department.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes and accounting principles.
· Knowledge of SAP Business One or comparable ERP.
