Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
REQUIRES two years of experience as a skilled worker in building and mechanical repair work in a relevant trade
(HVAC, boilers, hydraulics, pumps and motors etc.). An additional related technical education certificate or
diploma may be substituted for one year experience. Must possess a valid State –issued driver’s license in
accordance with the City of KCMO policies. May be required to obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee’s probationary period.(Appropriate
CDL will be determined by the department). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical
examination as prescribed by the City.

- Serves as first line responder to fulfill mechanical and HVAC needs of facilities.
- Provides service, repair, and maintenance of terminals and outer buildings.
- Performs general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry and

- Inspects, repairs, and maintains facilities systems, i.e. boilers, hot water and steam lines, air compressors,

- Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment used in the daily operations of a multi-storied office
- Performs remodeling duties such as framing and installing drywall, installing plumbing fixtures and water
- Performs welding repairs on buildings and equipment.
- Assists in other maintenance duties as assigned
