The Neighborhood Services Department is seeking Building Maintenance Workers with experience in preparing surfaces for graffiti removal by painting, using chemicals and/or pressure washing. A high degree of competence in the painting trades is expected.
Additional Responsibilities Include, And Are Not Limited To
Daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of paint sprayers, pressure washers, and other small gas-powered tools.
Determining appropriate work methods, tools, and materials for most assignments.
Public speaking at community events and meetings.
Overseeing assignments involving heavy public contact.
Responding to urgent graffiti removal cases as needed.
Training new staff.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Aviation
Knowledgeable and skilled in installing, maintaining, and repairing door components which include locks, closures, door frames and hinges.
Familiar working in an airport or secure environment.
Ability to perform skilled work in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and remodeling of buildings or offices.
Neighborhood Services
Knowledgeable and skilled in graffiti removal methods, including using a paint sprayer, pressure washer, and/or chemicals.
Knowledge of code requirements for graffiti removal when it is appropriate to refer a graffiti case for code enforcement.
Knowledgeable in retrieval of graffiti removal cases for reporting purposes.
Fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
Parks and Recreation
Knowledgeable and skilled in installing, maintaining, and repairing door components which include locks, closures, door frames and hinges.
Ability to read as-built plans.

SALARY
$24.93 - $38.68 per hour base wage. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
Additional Compensation For Unit 1 Positions Includes
Shift differential pay is available for hours worked during nights and weekends.
Standby is currently compensated at $3.25 per hour.
Callout requests and responses are paid at time and a half normal hourly wage.
Paid time off includes 13.5 paid holidays, 12 vacation days, and 15 sick days and personal leave days.
401(a), 0.45% employer contribution of base wage for Unit 001 employees.

Three years of skilled level experience in building maintenance and repair work, with a high level of proficiency in at least two of the building trades;
AND completion of an acceptable apprenticeship program.
OR Six years of trades experience, three of which are at the skilled level, with a high level of proficiency in at least two of the building trades.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
