Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to organizational processes and methods
Collect and analyze data to support process improvement initiatives
Execute Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement
Develop and maintain process documentation to support process improvement
Train and mentor staff on new process changes and initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are implemented and corporate wide improvements are realized
Develop strategies and plans to assure sustainability of improvements
Monitor and report progress on projects and performance to senior management
Travel to terminals in the network to observe operations and recommend improvements
Implement strategies and tactics to increase driver and dock productivity and increase operational efficiency
Support the other Engineers in the department
Remain flexible to additional responsibilities as required; react to change effectively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Other Duties
Maintain and create PowerBI KPI reports for Upper Management
Collaborate with Operations and IT to test different technological solutions
Support terminal personnel when issues arise
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or another Engineering/Technical related discipline
Proven experience in process improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in data analysis and process improvement tools
Strong project management skills
Outstanding time management and organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines
Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Must be competent and proficient in Microsoft Office Software products
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI or another Business Intelligence software
Experience with SQL and Snowflake are a plus
Persuasive presentation skills
0 – 3 years of experience in a similar role
Previous Transportation or Logistics experience is a plus
Fluent command in the English language is required to efficiently communicate with internal and external customers
WORKING CONDITIONS
Candidates must be able to efficiently communicate, observe operations facilities and activities, and learn our business from the "trenches".
Sedentary work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are only required occasionally.
Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Typical exposure to interior environmental conditions like air conditioning and dust; no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information. Occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others.
