In this vital role we are looking for an experienced Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability Manger (EHSS) professional to drive world class EHSS performance in a diverse site environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the site EHSS Risk Register, conducting site EHSS risk assessments, work with Industrial Hygiene to ensure all new products are reviewed for risk and controls are identified and implemented. Work with clients to advance safety culture and manage EHSS risks. Manage high risk program outputs and coordinate with EHS members to confirm client risks are identified, assessed, controlled and documented.
Risk management: Identify, analyze, and measure workplace hazards and stresses. Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations. Develop and implement risk plans and procedures.
Compliance: Maintain site EHSS Risk Register and provide periodic review to ensure appropriate risks are captured. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and Amgen requirements.
Record keeping: Ensure recommendations from risk assessments are developed and implemented and verify controls are working as intended with clients. Maintain accurate and complete records of all risk reviews and safety data.
Communication: Work with Global EHSS and site EHSS to manage communications for risk reviews.
Reporting: Provide periodic reports of progress against EHSS assessments and goals.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to drive risk reviews.

Basic Qualifications
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of EHS experience OR
Associate’s degree and 8 years of EHS experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of EHS experience OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of EHS experience OR
Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in safety, industrial hygiene, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, biology or other life science areas.
7 years of experience in developing and implementing EHSS risk registries/assessments or risk management programs in a biotech/pharma or related industry.
7 years of individual contributor experience in engineering and or EHSS
Strong understanding of requirements of EHS Risk management in Chemical or Biological manufacturing and/or laboratory operations.
Strong organizational skills, verbal & written communication skills, ability to communicate within departments, with scientists, engineers, and managers.
Able to work with minimal supervision to conduct risks assessments and implement recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Successful experience working in a multi-plant and/or multi-site cGMP-regulated commercial manufacturing environment, or process development
Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulatory requirements, industry trends, and ability to work in a team environment

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
