Ford Performance is looking for an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Motorsports Powertrain Engine Engineer to join our Global Motorsports department. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a highly dynamic environment, developing cutting edge powertrains to race around the world.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Design and development of combustion engine systems and components for Ford Performance Motorsports programs. These will include race applications as well as "one-off" high-performance demonstration vehicles.
Lead engine projects including the management of schedules, budgets, deliverables and meetings
Prepare and present technical information covering the design and development of engine components and sub-systems
Create overall engine & component test plans and lead the acquisition/processing of data
Coordinate engine builds and logistics
Work with suppliers, race teams and sanctioning organizations concerning engine specifications and regulations
Capable of working hours which include late evenings, nights, weekends and traveling (domestic and international) to meet company goals

You'll have...
Bachelors degree in engineering or a combination of education and work experience
3 years of engine and/or driveline design and/or testing experience
3 years of experience in at least one of the following engineering disciplines
Computer Aided Design – 3D models / 2D drawings
1D Engine Simulation
CFD
FEA
Kinematic / Dynamic Analysis
Strong communication skills and competency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong overall knowledge of powertrain and vehicle systems
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities (machining, fabrication, casting, etc)
This is a hybrid position located in either Dearborn, Michigan or Concord, North Carolina.

Masters degree in engineering
5 years of engine and/or driveline design and/or testing experience
Strong overall knowledge of powertrain and vehicle systems
Strong team player, with ability to interact across functions, work with suppliers and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility
