Position Summary
The Ag Services and Oilseeds BU Controlling team is seeking a Plant Controller for their North American Oilseeds division. The successful candidate for the position will be a key, highly visible process leader for control activities and cost analysis for one of ADMs largest assets. In this role you will impact the success of our oilseeds business to drive transparency and cost management. Your analysis will be crucial to driving operational excellence and achieving business objectives. This position offers the opportunity to work in a strong team environment, support and connecting Operations, GBS, Procurement, Finance and Performance Management. The position will report to the BU Controller NA Oilseeds.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze and explain monthly manufacturing costs and variances and provide financial insights to operations, commercial and finance leaders.
Review plant costs and allocations to ensure costs are accurately reflected in the correct departments
Review and Monitor the plants internal control environment to ensure compliance
Assist management with the monitoring and management of metrics and KPIs
Provide support and insights into current and forecast cost, as well as anticipate any deviation from the plan
Partner with Operations and Performance Management to develop. implement and track strategies to optimize financial performance, improve cost efficiency and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Develop a good business partnering relationship with operations, finance and commercial teams and GBS accounting teams
Provide guidance for and review capital spend
Regular communication and interaction with various levels of business management
Work with Senior Leadership to identify and implement process improvement initiatives, and process efficiencies
Facilitate collaboration and education sharing between Oilseeds Plant and Accounting team members
Partner with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) to support the financial reporting process
Provide recommendations to solve “pain points” in the process
Monitor and control of physical inventory/production and provide support for accounting reconciliation as needed
Support Plant Engineering and Department Supervisors on the purchasing process, making sure the PO and Receiving Process are executed in the right period. Monitor goods received not invoiced
Support for Internal/External audit process as it pertains to the plant
Analyze and monitor Capital Expenditure in accordance with ADM’s accounting policy
Monitor and ensure accuracy of fixed asset ledger

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting
5 years of relevant prior experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, root cause analysis, and process flow mapping preferred
Strong ability to coach and influence, provide clear expectations and timely direct feedback, both positive and constructive
Strong analytical abilities, initiative and problem-solving skills. Great attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Self-motivated with the ability to function independently and as part of a mutil-disciplinary team
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and large ERP systems a plus
Ability to travel as needed
Previous Cost Accounting Experience Is Required
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$121,900.00 - $200,100.00
Salaried Incentive Plan
The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan
