Precision Machinist : Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.
The Purpose Of This Position
Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts that meet precise specifications
Duties And Responsibilities
Set-up and Operate CNC and manual machines from proven programs and other documentation with minimal supervision
Follow instructions on routers, drawings, and SOPs (standard operating procedures) and use proper methods of producing a quality part
Use traditional inspection equipment such as dial indicators, micrometers, height gages, and Vernier calipers to verify accuracy and quality of work.
Conduct first piece checks with QA sign off Make geometry, fixture, and tool length offset adjustments as required
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures Prioritize workflow through effective communication with technical lead or supervisor
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Document time and production data using Epicor software Maintain a clean and safe work area

Standing 75 % of shift
Some occasional heavy lifting, but not for long periods of time (up to 50 lbs.)

The range for this position is $26.00 hourly rate - $35.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
