Position Summary

The packer is responsible for operating the can and end packaging equipment automatic or manual as assigned. The position also will focus on the quality of cans being packaged and the products loaded and shipped.

Essential Job Functions

• Observe operation of equipment for any deviation from standard and stops equipment when necessary and takes corrective action or notify shipping clerk or supervisor.
• Continually inspect quality of cans and notify inspector or supervisor of any off-quality material
• Prepare and maintain reports and records
• Perform duties regarding safety of self and co-workers while exercising proper care and protection of company property
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Perform relief work as required
