General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Subcontracts Professional to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services.
The Senior Subcontracts Professional will lead and act as the focal point for all subcontract contractual communications and commitments to subcontractors working with cross-functional teams in the development of complex subcontract statements of work, technical specifications, and flow-down of mandatory or otherwise necessary / prudent from a business and contract perspective. We'll rely on you to ensure that subcontract documentation mitigates the subcontractor's performance risk, and conforms with program contract terms, conditions, and other provisions including applicable federal regulations and business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance. You'll facilitate the development of team / partner relationships with subcontractors and develop and maintain relationships for long-term engagements that provide a competitive advantage to the business. What you bring to the table :
A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Substantial knowledge in the applicable contractual flow downs, federal, state, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and local laws, and the ability to apply them in the procurement of commodities, services, and subcontracts
Ability to undertake a mixture of program management and contract management in regard to complex subcontracts (e.g. subcontractor budgets, program reviews, schedule, risk, technical performance, earned value management)
Ability to understand the subcontractor and internal politics and successfully influence the decision makers to achieve the business and customer's needs
Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop win-win solutions
Possess excellent analytical skills to aid in solving complex problems
Demonstrates creative, innovative approaches, and solutions to subcontract issues and problems utilizing very strong decision-making skills
Excellent ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle more detailed problems
Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment
Demonstrates knowledge of applicable FAR / DFARS and contracting experience with prime contractors or subcontractors as well as all contract types
Advanced experience reviewing and analyzing subcontract documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels
Demonstrates strong analytical / critical thinking skills

Target salary range : USD $116,149.00 / Yr. - USD $125,676.00 / Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Salary : $116,149 - $125,676
