Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Service Technician to join our team at the Jerome, Idaho location. This role involves performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on construction and compact construction equipment (CWP). The Shop Service Technician will engage directly with customers to address service needs, ensuring that our high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction are consistently met.
Job Responsibilities :
On-Site Diagnostics and Repairs : Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of John Deere and competitive construction equipment at our shop, following all technical procedures and safety regulations.
Training and Development : Participate actively in Service EDUCATE training programs to maintain and enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Customer Interaction : Review and explain maintenance, repair, and service concerns directly with customers, providing clear and professional communication to foster trust and satisfaction.
Sales Support : Promote and sell dealer service programs, as appropriate, to help customers optimize their equipment performance and service schedules.
Parts and Inventory Coordination : Work with the Parts Department to ensure efficient stocking and access to seasonal parts, maintaining an organized and well-stocked work environment.
Knowledge and Condition Maintenance : Stay up-to-date on John Deere and competitive products and maintain the condition of service vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Safety and Documentation : Follow all safety protocols in performing work assignments and accurately document time, materials, and tasks on work orders.

Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities
Required Qualifications :
Experience : 4 years of hands-on experience in service repairs, specifically with construction and CWP equipment.
Skills and Expertise : Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of heavy equipment; ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with Service Advisor and basic computer functions, with a demonstrated ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in diagnostics.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly and maintain physical readiness for hands-on repair work.
Certifications : Advanced or Master Service Technician certification is preferred.
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
Licenses : Valid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and forklift license are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications :

Compensation :
Hourly Wage : $26 - $38, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. This range reflects the minimum and maximum salary for the position, with individual rates determined accordingly.
