Requirements
The Title VI Coordinator provides strategic leadership for the University's response to complaints of discriminatory harassment on the grounds of race, color, and national origin. This position directs the institutional framework for compliance with Title VI.
Essential Functions Compliance Support Helps to direct compliance with Title VI and serves as an advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Engagement and Wellbeing and the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Compliance, Investigations & Ethics regarding Title VI compliance, risk mitigation, and best practices. Works with appropriate campus units/departments to support institutional policies and procedures for addressing concerns related Title VI compliance, including alleged discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin. Familiarity with compliance obligations associated with federal, state and local civil rights laws, including Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other anti-discrimination regulations is required to align with compliance programs.
Complaint Management Works with program liaisons and investigators to help guide the University’s response to Title VI complaints. This includes receiving and screening complaints, maintaining confidential records, and recommending appropriate interventions. Familiarity with compliance obligations associated with federal, state and local civil rights laws, including Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other anti-discrimination regulations is required to ensure that complaints are identified and responded to appropriately.
Monitoring and Reporting Work with the compliance team to track, maintain detailed reports, and conduct on-site reviews, if necessary, to ensure adherence with Title VI.
Training and Awareness Coordinates with the OIEW to design and deliver training programs to staff, students, or faculty about Title VI, anti-discrimination policies, and inclusive practices.
Physical Effort Duties are primarily sedentary. Must be able to use a computer at a desk or similar workstation, and t ra vel to on-campus meetings as needed.

Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal civil rights laws and regulations, including Title VI, Title IX, ADA, Clery, and VAWA, with a strong understanding of best practices for compliance in higher education settings
- Ability to manage a complex, ongoing caseload of Title VI-related complaints and incidents alongside multiple concurrent projects, with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver effective training and education on civil rights laws for diverse institutional audiences including students, faculty, staff, parents, and administrators
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and partnerships across the institution, engaging all stakeholder groups with diplomacy, tact, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusivity regardless of background
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as an objective, neutral party while handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to act independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative while demonstrating excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
