Position: Field Service Tech III
Requisition: 6447
Position Description: The mechanic will assist with Vehicle preparation for testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, parts identification, maintenance and repairs of the Amphibious Combat vehicle equipment and ensures minimal interruption to test operations.
Skills Required: Communication skills Communicate with FSR: Vehicle diagnosis, Repair time, Parts required, other technical observations and vehicle repair requirements. Teamwork Ability to work under pressure Present a positive image of self and company’s products and services. Work effectively with differing customers and cultures. Courtesy and tact is a significant part of the job in the exchange of information within the department and project team.
Experience Required: Knowledge of military maintenance systems (all levels of repair). Knowledge of appropriate technical manuals and engineering data. Proficiently use all types of hand tools, shop tools, including micrometers, depth gages and finish gages. Must be able to interpret and use all types of engineering drawings and schematics. Detail understanding of system troubleshooting techniques. Use all types of power tools, lifting devices, carrying or support equipment in a safe/sure manner. Two (2) years' experience performing the duties of an ACV FSR or four years in a previously held military MOS of 2141, 2147, 2149 or 2110 maintainer and trained on ACV operation and maintenance. Must have Marine Expeditionary Unit of at 2-3 years.
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant Associate’s degree, or military school training; plus additional 4 years work experience in the mechanical/electrical/electronic field of relevant military products.
Education Preferred: Amphibious Combat Vehicle experience of at least 3-4yrs 3-4yrs Cursor 16 Engine experience and or FIAT Powertrains training 3-4yrs Allison 4800 series experience knowledge and or Allison Certification. 2-3yrs in previously held MOS 2141, 2147, 3521.
