What are the responsibilities and job description for the (On-call) VALET PARKING ATTENDANT position at VetPride Services?
VetPride Services is seeking Valet Parking Attendants in support of valet operations at the Jamaica Plain Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. We provide a free vehicle parking and retrieval program at VA Medical locations for Military Veteran patients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Greet valet customers in a pro manner upon their arrival / departure.
Open doors, assist customers as needed with wheelchair or walker.
Provide directions as needed.
Perform valet area access control responsibilities.
Safely operate various vehicles types to / from the valet areas.
Closely inspect all vehicles for damage and record findings on valet ticket.
Secure all vehicles and return key tag and keys to the valet podium.
Follow safe driving procedure and safety protocols at all times.
Abide by all rules and regulations set by the VA.
Report to duty in company issued uniform; personal hygiene and a professional appearance is expected at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid drivers license in the state of employment.
Will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background and DMV check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to drive a manual (stick shift) vehicle.
Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold.
Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict.
Consistent attendance and reliability required.
Ability to understand, speak, and write basic English.
Regularly stand for long periods (6-8 hours) and walk quickly.
Ability to lift to 30 pounds.
Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.
Experience Requirements
1-year experience driving manual and automatic transmissions.
Valet experience preferred, but not required.
