Project Overview :
Support CBP’s Trade Policy and Programs Directorate with research, policy analysis, and business process improvement to advance strategic initiatives.
Role Description :
The Business Process Analyst will be part of a team conducting international trade-related policy and regulatory analyses, developing strategic frameworks and plans, and leveraging business processes and policy insights to identify programmatic improvements that align with CBP’s operational goals.
This position requires attending client meetings, internal meetings, and working on-site at least once per week near Metro Center.
Responsibilities :
Attend all client and internal meetings.
Take and submit meeting minutes for all client meetings.
Conduct policy and regulatory analyses and submit written summaries, reports, and findings to the client.
Conduct research and generate findings, insights, and recommendations.
Contribute to monthly reports and support ad hoc report requests from the client.
Create briefing decks and talking points to convey complex information to a broad audience.
Stay up-to-date on international trade trends, policies, and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications :
Located in the National Capitol Region, however this is a hybrid job with only one day a week in the office
5-7 years directly related experience
Led or supported the development of a strategy framework or design workshop to help an organization or program achieve its intended operational goals
Have conducted an analysis or gained a comprehensive understanding of a complex technical program, including processes, systems, training, data, and resources to identify recommendations to align with a program’s goals and strategic direction
Prepared for and led internal and external stakeholder discussions, client meetings, and briefings for executive leadership
Managed multiple concurrent assignments while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products
Prepared a wide range of briefing materials and concise summaries of complex studies, evaluations, and data analyses to communicate program effectiveness and progress to senior leaders
Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal
Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Preferred :
CBP BI or other federal clearance
Understanding of government regulatory processes
Legislative and policy experience
Experience advising for a technical program
Experience consulting for the federal government
Experience related to international trade or supply chain analysis
Experience working in DHS or CBP
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
