A Clerical Support Specialist, under general supervision of the Client Information Manager, scans clinical documents into the electronic record, performs transcription of dictation generated by the prescribers, and processes requests for clinical records via internal and outside entity requests.
A Clerical Support Specialist performs customer service responsibilities including greeting visitors in a welcoming manner, notifying staff of consumer arrivals, schedules consumer appointments, monitors visitor access, and maintains security awareness.
A Clerical Support Specialist may perform interoffice deliveries among HealthWest / County departments and a variety of other human service agencies in the community, may be assigned to or support any team, department, and / or program within HealthWest.
An employee in this class maintains a pleasant appearance of the reception areas, answers incoming telephone calls, transfers calls to appropriate individuals, routes emergency calls appropriately, provides answers to inquiries regarding the agencys services and programs, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications
1. Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test.
2. Have two (2) years general clerical experience.
3. Possess a valid drivers license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
4. Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required
1. Bilingual candidates highly desired.
2. Lived experiences with mental illness / developmental disabilities / substance use disorders valued.
3. Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.
