Account Manager – Government Sales
A leading innovator in computational software and AI tools is seeking a highly motivated Account Manager to join its Government Sales team.
The Account Manager will be a driven individual with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, responsible for managing a set of accounts in the government sector. This role focuses on maintaining and growing revenue associated with established customer contracts. While revenue growth is the primary objective, the Account Manager is also responsible for increasing technology usage, improving funding models, and responding to customer inquiries.

Responsibilities :
Maintaining and growing sales within the government space by :
Serving as the primary contract negotiation point of contact to expand existing contracts.
Maintaining the SugarCRM pipeline of opportunities and closing sales.
Providing accurate sales forecasting to management.
Expanding existing technology lists on current contracts and growing contracts to include more technology, training, and technical services.
When visiting organizations, scheduling sales-driven meetings with government prospects, IT professionals, purchasers, and decision-makers to drive revenue forward.
Growing usage and relationships with named organizations and users by :
Responding to customer leads and inquiries from government organizations.
Working with users to incorporate technology into their operations.
Traveling to named organizations and providing technical talks and meetings with users to build relationships.
Serving as the primary liaison for all inquiries, ensuring top-quality relationships with timely and high-quality responses.
Additional Details :
Location : Champaign, Illinois, or remote.
Job Type : Full-time (40 hours per week) / Permanent.
Reporting to : Director of Sales & Strategic Initiatives.
