The Inventory Control Associate shall be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, including checking inventory accuracy, reducing inventory levels, minimizing risk exposure, and maintaining overall compliance with company policies and procedures. The individual in this role will also perform other duties as required by management.
The Inventory Control Associate shall be accountable to and supervised by the Inventory Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities :
Perform daily physical inventory counts and audits, providing detailed documentation of results.
Conduct quality checks on date-sensitive, slow-moving, and obsolete items using various system reports.
Research transactions and exceptions to identify root causes and provide resolution.
Make inventory adjustments to ensure inventory accuracy.
Investigate and report discrepancies, driver shortages, and out-of-stock issues, identifying trends and errors for leadership.
Request, prepare, compile, and maintain reports and records in both printed and electronic formats.
Research causes of weight variances, receiving / put-away / letdown issues, and damaged products in warehouse slots.
Evaluate, verify, and process driver-returned products.
Reconcile routes, invoices, and other documents.
Perform clerical tasks and audits to support warehouse logistics.
Adhere to company safety standards, product handling procedures, and food safety regulations.
Work in multiple environments, including office settings, ambient storage, refrigerated areas, and frozen storage.
Utilize and learn warehouse management systems (Power Warehouse or similar systems).
Conduct product slotting to optimize inventory organization.
Minimum Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge :
Minimum two years of experience in Inventory Control or a clerical role in a Distribution Center setting.
Ability to resolve routine problems, analyze complex scenarios, prioritize tasks, and perform duties with limited supervision.
Basic experience in MS Word and Excel and a working knowledge of inventory control systems and processes.
Extensive experience with Excel and spreadsheet management is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Possess strong math skills and excellent organizational practices with a high attention to detail.
HACCP / SQF experience preferred.
Ability to operate and become certified on Powered Industrial Trucks (Pallet Jack, Stock / Cherry Picker, etc.).
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
