Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Parks and Recreation Operations Manager to join our team at Vets Hired. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a passion for delivering high-quality services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, directing, and evaluating of activities, programs, and operations within the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of service delivery methods and operations.
- Represent the department to other departments, elected officials, agencies, and external stakeholders, and provide information and assistance regarding parks and recreation programs and services.
- Collaborate with employees, public and private organizations, community groups, and other organizations to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Manage the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff.
- Negotiate, approve, and monitor contractual agreements with other agencies, organizations, and contractors.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, Landscape Architecture, Natural Resources Management, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
- Four years of progressively responsible administrative/management experience in a significant parks and recreation department within a large comparable agency.
- Two years of experience supervising staff and functions with responsibility for planning, developing, and operating multiple large public facilities distributed across a large geographic area within a complex public agency system.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
