What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Payroll Analyst position at Vets Hired?
Assists with payroll preparation and processing, completion and tracking of ongoing data audits, and maintenance and set up of employment taxes for US employees while working independently with guidance. Eager to learn, highly organized and attention to detail. Anticipates job expectations while performing payroll tasks requiring application of techniques and knowledge and contributes to project solutions with technical aptitude.
Responsibilities :
- Inputs payroll for both US and international; works with HR and Benefits to update employee records; works with Treasury to ensure timely funding of payroll and related liabilities
- Collaborates to ensure payroll is closed accurately by performing all data collection, reconciliation, and application of payroll policies for area of responsibility
- Audits integration results
- Audits US and International payrolls
- Performs analysis for various members of the organization as needed
- Ensures data integrity in the payroll system and in the systems that impact payroll
- Directs tax invoices and / or notices to appropriate vendor or handles response (SUI Rates, Statement Notifications, Quarterly Filing)
- Reviews and audits all hours, earnings, deductions, manual checks, and special actions prior to each payroll processing
- Manages timesheets, assigns timesheet approvers and updates employee accrual benefits data in Vision; works with accounting to resolve any issues in timesheet and payroll uploads and recording.
- Works with One Source Virtual (or other payroll vendors) on service requests
- Inputs US and international accrual benefits in Vision and makes corrections as needed
- Workday upgrade and enhancement testing
- Assists with year-end adjustments and reporting
- Generates accounting reports and schedule; resolves any inquiries from GL team
- Escalates issues as needed regarding timesheets and pay checks
- Prepares contribution data files
- Works with US and international payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely paychecks
- Identifies and analyzes opportunities for process improvement to enhance strategic objectives globally and corporately
- Responds to government agencies regarding employee verifications as needed
- Assists with annual bonus schedule and may generate annual compensation statements in collaboration with respective teams and as directed by firm leaders
- Assists with annual salary schedule and may generate annual salary letters
- Documents and maintains payroll procedures in collaboration with respective teams and as directed by firm leaders
- Reviews and continually improves payroll processing with the key objective to simplify, standardize and build capacity on the team
- Communicates with all levels of the organization effectively by responding in a timely manner and providing strong customer service
