What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician position at Vets Plus, Inc.?
Summary of the Position: Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service. Equipment includes but is not limited to injection mold, hot extrusion, labeler etc.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks and inspections on all equipment.
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Performs troubleshooting tasks, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Maintains equipment in compliance with HACCP, GMP and OSHA Requirements.
- Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations are always met regarding equipment and maintenance.
- Responsible for housekeeping and landscaping activities for all facilities.
- Performs and coordinates repairs and maintenance of all system’s including electrical, PLC’s, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Assists in developing and refining the Preventive Maintenance program.
- Must project a high level of professionalism in work performed and relations with others.
- Ability to work proficiently with little supervision.
- Assists in continuous process improvement activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Able to climb ladders.
- Ability to read and write in English and basic math skills.
- Ability to work in various temperature ranges.
- Proficiency in more than one trade area, such as carpentry, plumbing, control systems, mechanical systems and proficiency in electrical is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience in a factory or warehouse setting is preferred.
- 2-4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
