Technical Writer

Key Areas to Own:

• Translate technical information from engineering design documents, wiki pages, mockups, tickets, product requirement documents, and products into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Deliver content for online documentation, on screen text (i.e., UI tooltips and labels), and help articles
• Develop and integrate graphics, conceptual diagrams, and illustrations to improve the quality and usability of the documentation
• Work cross-functionally with the responsible PM and SMEs in the Engineering, Design, Field Engineering, Customer Success, and Technical Support groups
• Assist in defining Veza standards for style and terminology in technical documentation and communications
  
  

Must-have skills:

• 5 years of experience in technical writing, especially for enterprise cybersecurity, identity management, identity governance, or GRC (governance risk and compliance) products
• Hands-on experience with Jira and/or Confluence
• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, communications, or a related field (technical writing/communications certifications are also acceptable)
• Extremely detail-orientated with ability to think and write in context with the target audience
• Self-motivated and effective in a fluid environment with changing priorities
• Able to work independently with little supervision

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience in writing online help and knowledge base articles
• Experience working in a high-velocity agile environment, especially a startup
• Experience developing training materials and/or audio- and video-based collateral
• Experience with enterprise SaaS-based or data-based products
• Experience working with GitHub and GitBook

At Veza, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range can be discussed with your recruiter for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package.
