What are the responsibilities and job description for the Integration Designer 1 position at Vfp Inc?
Responsibilities include creating/checking electrical designs to ensure they meet customer specifications and applicable codes, Integration related BOM pre-orders, collaboration with engineering and project support teams as needed to clarify issues, and shop support as needed to minimize negative impacts/delays.
- Collaborate with and learn proper design techniques from more senior designers.
- Develop in-depth equipment knowledge, application, and methods of installation/use.
- Review drawings and relaying schemes to ensure that they are complete and that they accurately reflect the customer’s requirements and the engineering design as defined in the customer specifications.
- Review the drawings and relaying schemes to verify they match engineering calculations and necessary codes that are applicable.
- Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerance limits, and other drawing details are correct.
- Assist engineering, shop, quality, and field support personnel to verify customer satisfaction.
- Develop strong interdepartmental relationships and open communication lines to assure efficient problem resolution.
- Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff, field service, and/or customers as needed.
- Support inventory reduction and cost savings initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization as needed.
- Support customer meetings and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) as needed.
- Possible travel as needed.
- Monitor production schedule demands to meet ship dates.
Performs other assigned duties as required by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer programs: Windows, Word, Excel, the latest release of AutoCAD, the latest release of Revit.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1-3 years on the job electrical experience with conduit, circuits, panels, protection relays, etc.
