POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title : TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR
Location : FIELD OFFICE
Responsible to : REGION TRANSPORTATION MANAGER
Position Summary : The purpose of this job is to transport fuel products safely between terminals and facilities, while complying with all federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures. Additionally, Supervisors work to support drivers in their area and to act as a point of contact with other departments and job functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Serve as the point of contact for all Drivers in the operational area for day-to-day issues.
- Schedule and manage equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and legal regulations.
- Provide operational training for new and existing Drivers.
- Serve as a point of contact for Sales and Support Center and field managers in the operational area.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer; report any mechanical issues to appropriate personnel.
- Accurately maintain electronic daily driver logs, paper logs where applicable, and all necessary delivery tickets and bills of lading.
- Load, transport, and unload fuel at terminals, stores, wholesale, and retail customers' tanks in compliance with company and terminal policies and guidelines for transporting hazardous materials.
- Enter all load information into the electronic reporting system at time of loading and delivery.
- Communicate with logistics department and field management on customer issues or safety concerns.
- Maintain and promote professional relationships with all company team members, terminal employees, customers, and guests.
- Ability to safely clean up a fuel spill or notify the correct personnel in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of truck and trailer.
- Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal regulations : Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), OSHA, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
