The Benefits and Wellness Coordinator will primarily assist with the employee benefit enrollment process and promotion of health and wellness initiatives for VGM Group. In this role, the coordinator will ensure we maintain accuracy in benefit elections, perform audits, assist in coordination of employee owner well-being programs, and perform administrative tasks as needed. Reporting Accountability: Director of Employee Benefits
Working Location: Waterloo, IA or surrounding area
Work Hours: Part-Time
Responsibilities of the Coordinator
This individual will play a vital role in assisting with employee benefits and wellness initiatives. In addition, and as needed, this role will provide general support to the VP of Human Resources as needed.
Benefits responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy with new hire benefit election in HRIS
- Assist with employee requests of new benefit cards
- Update the employee benefits app
- Audit monthly retiree coverage
- Responsible for ensuring ACA 1095 and various forms are completed
- Assist with open employee enrollment
- Update employee work perks
- Provide support with marketing projects as needed
Wellness responsibilities
- Responsible for ordering weekly fruit and delivering to the various warehouse locations
- Communicate with vendors for warehouse locations as needed
- Assist in coordinating monthly well-being series
- Schedule and track attendance of employee yoga and fitness classes
- Identify and communicate Passport to Well-being trends, tracking, and challenges to grow program
- Schedule annual CPR/AED Certifications for various teams
- Ensuring the vitality page is accurate and up to date on the employee benefits app
- Support for coordinating Get Connected Fair and Health Fair
Administrative responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day Human Resource operations, ensuring smooth execution of the VP's responsibilities and strategic initiatives
- Compiles reports and performs ad hoc reports as needed
- Assists with presentation and meeting preparation
- Coordinates, plans, schedules, and maintains records for various Human Resources projects
- Provides general support to VP of Human Resources
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate is reliable with excellent communications skills and a passion for health and wellness personally and professionally.
High School diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance, occasional off-hours for rare occurrences related to the job.
- Minimum of 1-year office support experience
- Excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time without compromising deadlines
- Capable of working independently without supervision
Physical Requirements
- Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
- Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
- Moving throughout the VGM facilities and traveling to and from campuses
