This Director of Data Analytics will play a key role in the growth of the company to support data driven strategic initiatives for all internal and external stakeholders - which will include collecting, integrating and communicating data. While leading a team, the director will also implement core data capabilities and evangelize a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout HOMELINK. The Director of Data Analytics is responsible for leading all data strategy, analytics, business intelligence, reporting and data engineering functions within VGM HOMELINK.
Reports to: SVP of Systems within VGM HOMELINK
Working Hours Classification: Full-Time, 40 hours per week to meet business need
Working Location: Open to on-site in Waterloo, Iowa; hybrid or remote within the United States
Responsibilities/Duties
- Build out and oversee all data infrastructure and processes, including data governance and data integrity approaches
- Implement data strategies and manage projects and resources. Identify and define both process and data improvements. Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis
- Assist executives in defining organizational goals and strategic plans around their data needs.
- Expert business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area(s).
- Develop data-centric methodologies and analyses to support core business functions
- Serve as thought leader on data issues in strategic partnerships and via external sources to solve key challenges facing the business.
- Manage data insights and analytics, including operational dashboards in partnership with all business areas
- Oversee all data analytics inclusive of performance and financial measurement and reporting
- Enable BI and Analytics technologies across Homelink platforms
- Deliver insightful analysis and recommendations that can be acted upon by the organization at all levels
- Build in-depth knowledge of the business success drivers (including determining the KPIs that will help meet our forecasts) and deliver value added solutions that have a measurable impact on the business
- Facilitate the establishment and execution of the data roadmap and strategic vision for information delivery and management, including enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, and data management
- Create the infrastructure to generate reports focused on performance around cost and utilization and create a culture of data driven operational excellence
- Develop new and support existing algorithms that identify gaps in the business and integrate these into business programs that support improved operations.
- Develop executive-level relationships with key members of the leadership team and influence key project stakeholders to support their delivery of critical initiatives
- Track and report achievements and challenges and communicate progress on regularly defined intervals to senior leadership.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- 5 years’ experience working developing data solutions in an analytical, high transaction, high volume environment
- Experience being the lead point of contact, consulting with and problem solving with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with data reporting using BI applications (Crystal Reports, Reporting Services, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience in Data Mining, Statistical Modeling, Forecasting, and/or Predictive Modeling
- Experience with Data Integration / SSIS / SSAS / Data Vault
- Full lifecycle Project Management experience specifically focused within technical solutions delivery
- Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years’ work-related experience in Computer Science/Engineering or Technology related field, or in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, MIS, Data Science, or similar program required.

Physical Requirements:
- Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment.
- Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision.
- Comfort and acceptance of a remote work environment; working at a distance from the home-office and team members yet staying connected through in-office virtual networks. Occasional travel to business-critical meetings or events. Rare but on occasion.

Compensation Overview: The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
