Description : The Public Engagement Unit's (PEU) mission is to identify and execute new strategies by leveraging Data Analytics to recognize New Yorkers in need of the services which are available to them and to also navigate them to the respective city services accessible to them as per the individual's need. The Engage team at PEU are the developers of the EngageNYC application, which is an outreach, canvassing, and case management tool that is used by a certain PEU teams and partners. Development work is continuing on the EngageNYC application, with the purpose of rolling the application out to additional PEU teams and partners. The EngageNYC application will replace a combination of outdated / insufficient CRMs and spreadsheets that they currently use. Additionally, maintenance of EngageNYC is ongoing to keep the tool updated and incompliance for the teams who rely on the EngageNYC application to do their work daily. The system has been in production for more than 6 years and some additional enhancements are needed to reflect changes in the teams' workflow and responsibilities, which has also changed over the years.
Tasks & Duties
- Design, develop, evaluate and support PEU's data-driven outreach work and produce corresponding collateral that will increase access to public services
- Work with the communications staff to develop and execute PEU's earned and paid strategic communications plans, including managing a multimillion-dollar multilingual citywide paid media campaign budget.
- Use a data-driven approach to develop message testing
- Work with internal and external communications, press and creative teams to develop assets.
- Develop strategy and content for PEU's social media accounts.
- Design collateral, including graphics, flyers, videos and website content.
- Evaluate effectiveness of communications activities and make data-driven recommendations.
- Provide guidance and support to partner agencies in the planning and development of their creative communications, including paid media campaigns.
