Responsibilities
- Review and post-process field data to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Assist in training geomatics professionals on calculations, data collection, and software applications like MicroStation Open Roads.
- Conduct quality assurance (QA/QC) checks on data from field sources and external providers.
- Work closely with field supervisors and mapping specialists to clarify project requirements and ensure alignment with company policies.
- Assist project managers in planning field tasks, maintaining schedules, and tracking project progress.
- Follow company policies, safety guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Strong understanding of geomatics principles, mathematics, and field procedures.
- Ability to perform technical survey and mapping calculations.
- Familiarity with industry-standard geomatics equipment and a willingness to adapt to new technology.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
- 4 years of geomatics experience through coursework or professional work, with increasing responsibility preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Land Surveying or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Open Roads, and ArcPro software preferred.
- Experience coordinating Connecticut Department of Transportation (CDOT) geomatics projects, including data management workflows.
- Experience in data collection, post-processing, and resolving discrepancies in conventional and GPS methodologies.
- Primarily an office-based role with significant computer use.
- Occasional fieldwork or site visits may be required.
