VHB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our growing Land Development team based in Tampa or Sarasota, FL.

Responsibilities
- Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale institutional, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
- Help build and lead a team of civil engineering professionals.
- Provide technical and career guidance as a mentor to staff.
- Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents.
- Assist in project task scope, budget and schedule management.
- Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed.
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues.
- Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration.
- Manage work and development of junior level staff.
- Manage small, medium, or large tasks.
Skills and Attributes
- Highly Proficient in the following:
- MS Office
- ICPR and/or StormWise
- WaterCAD
- StormCAD or similar software
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion/sediment control, and stormwater management.
- Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations.
- Knowledge of construction materials and detailing. Detail drawings, sections, and material specifications.
- Excellent innovative design skills.
- Strong, creative engineering skills and ability to adhere to office standards.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, strong attention to detail and ability to think critically.
- Excels at working in a team environment.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- 11 years of professional site/civil engineering experience, including consulting/private sector experience
- PE licensure required
- FL market experience preferred
